Safety & tips
- The island has a Dutch side and a French side; the French side uses euros.
- Traffic can be heavy on busy ship days.
Check U.S. State Department travel advisories before you sail.
โฐ Back to the ship on time
Check when the last water taxi leaves. Island traffic back from Maho or Orient Bay can be slow, so leave at least 75 minutes before all-aboard.
Ship time can differ from local time. Your ship won't wait for independent travelers.
